You know what I hate? I hate seeing a video of pro-Palestinians flinging accusatory misinformation at a Jewish Torontonian who remains silent merely because of a lack of knowledge. One of the most infuriating accusations is when they accuse Israel of “Ethnic Cleansing.” Let’s talk about that please.

The definition of “Ethnic Cleansing” is “The mass expulsion or killing of members of an unwanted ethnic or religious group in a society”. As much as the pro-Palestinians wish to accuse Israel of that, that is a really easy thing to disprove. Here are the facts:

NUMBERS:
In 1948 there were around 700,000 Palestinians. Today, in Gaza and the West Bank, there are over 5 million. (That is a very conservative estimate. Numbers vary depending on the source, with many sources at 9-12 million.) Even with the most conservative estimate, it is completely incorrect to use the term “ethnic cleansing” for what is happening to the Palestinians. The numbers are clearly not diminished. Yes, Palestinians are getting killed in Gaza. That is what happens in war. It is awful to lose any life, but please don’t tell me that it’s Ethnic Cleansing. Ridiculous.

IRONY:
Since 1948 (that’s where we’re starting from for the purpose of this argument), ethnic cleansing is exactly what happened to the Jews in Arab countries.
1948 Morocco – 265,000 Jews. Today – around 2,000. (37 million people in Morocco today)
1948 Iraq – 135,000 Jews. Today – Around ten, if that. (44 million people in Iraq today)
1948 Algeria – 140,000 Jews. Today – fewer than 50. (44 million people in Algeria today)
Muslim countries have continuously perpetrated ethnic cleansing on the Jews.

NOT JUST THE JEWS:
Muslims have been doing this to all minorities, not only to the Jews, throughout history. But let’s look at just the last century. One hundred years ago there were many Christian communities and other small ethnic groups in the Middle East. They are all being wiped out by Muslims. Fifty years ago, Nazareth & Bethlehem (two very holy cities for Christians) were 80% Christian. Today, they are 80% Muslim. Similar statistics in Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt. In Nigeria, Muslim organizations have murdered over fifty thousand Christians. In the last two decades, two million Christians fled Iraq and became refugees.

What’s disturbing is that no one talks about this. For some reason, the world media and universities seem to be obsessed with Palestinian refugees. Did you know that the UN has two agencies for refugees? The first is UNHCR, an agency to aid all refugees worldwide. The other refugee agency is UNRWA, only for the Palestinian refugees. It is the only UN agency dedicated to helping refugees from a specific region or conflict. UNRWA is the largest agency of the UN, employing over 30,000 staff, 99% of which are locally recruited Palestinians. That’s a lot of people controlling the narrative as they wish.

As much as our enemies work their well-oiled propaganda machine, anyone with eyes can see that there is absolutely no ethnic cleansing of Muslims on the part of Israel. Remember this. Don’t be bullied into silence by people shouting lies. They can identify themselves however they like, but don’t let them re-invent history. Please stand up with the truth and speak out before the cement dries on their inaccurate, deceitful, and dangerous story!
