Marking 100 Days

Yesterday and today, I was in a synagogue in the USA. Surprisingly, nowhere in the synagogue are there any “kidnapped” signs displayed, no indication anywhere that there are hostages, or that there is even a war with Hamas. It is astounding to me. If the Jews aren’t calling attention to the hostages, how can we expect the rest of the world to remember?

This Sunday will mark 100 days that the hostages have been in captivity. When I think about that and see the protests in Toronto (and the world over, for that matter), I am absolutely gob smacked that there are people protesting against anything that Israel is doing. I am perplexed that mobs still shout for a ceasefire with no mention whatsoever of the hostages. Over 100 innocent people taken. Just taken and held with no word.

Hersh Goldberg Polin is one of the hostages.  He is 23-years old and lived in the USA until his family made aliyah in 2008. On October 7th, Hersh was at the Nova Music Festival and had his lower arm blown off before the terrorists kidnapped him and took him away. He is seen being loaded into a truck in one of the Hamas videos from October 7th. No one has heard from him since then. Hersh’s mom, Rachel Goldberg Polin, is my cousin’s best friend. No one should ever have to go through what she is going through. Rachel has released a 2-minute video in anticipation of the 100 days. Please watch and share. And please follow the idea she suggests. We have to bring the hostages home!
